Born on December 27, 1965 Salman Khan is the son of the legendary writer Salim Khan, who penned many super-hits in the yesteryear’s like Sholay, Deewar, and Don. Salman started his acting carrier in 1988 by doing a supporting role in the movie “Biwi Ho To Aisi”. The following year Salman Khan came up with his leading role in the box office romantic hit Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). Early lifeSalman Khan is the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma Khan (maiden name Sushila Charak), his paternal grandfather came to India from Afghanistan and settled in Madhya Pradesh whereas his mother is a Marathi Brahmin. Telling the love story of an Indian man and an American woman, the film was a major failure, both commercially and critically.
